Baring Vostok founder Calvey detained in Moscow over fraud

MOSCOW, Feb 15 (PRIME) -- Michael Calvey, the founder of Baring Vostok investment company, which focuses on investments in Russia and the CIS, and five other people have been detained in Moscow over suspected large-scale fraud, according to a database of the Basmanny District Court seen by PRIME on Friday.

“The investigation asks to put Calvey and five other defendants into custody, they are charged with the article “Large-scale fraud in an organized group,” the court’s press secretary Yunona Tsaryova told PRIME.

The defendants include at least two top executives of Baring Vostok, according to the database. These are Ivan Zyuzin, director for investments, and Philippe Delpal, industry partner for the financial industry sector , Tsaryova said.

The three other defendants are Maxim Vladimirov, Vagan Abgaryan, and Alexei Kordicheyev.
